David R Wagner, DC
My first experience with chiropractic was at the age of 12. My parents were going to a chiropractor who recommended that they have their kid’s spine’s checked because spinal misalignments or subluxations can be inherited and run in the family. They learned from our chiropractor that these misalignments interfere with the nerves which exit from the spine and transmit messages from the brain to the body and from the body back to the brain.
If there is a breakdown in communication from the brain to the body or from the body to the brain then problems will develop. In my case, after a thorough evaluation, the chiropractor found that I had misalignments in a part of my spine that controlled the function of my pancreas and I also had weakness in muscles that were related to the function of the pancreas. With further testing he found that sugar was the cause of this weakness and by eliminating sugar from my diet my body would start to work better on it’s own. Having had a family history of diabetes my folks took this advice seriously and took me off sugar.
That really was not what a 12 year old wanted to hear! After a few months of being off sugar my muscles got stronger and I began to feel an improvement in how my body worked and felt. I was always a “husky” kid (my mom’s nice way of saying I was fat), and after cutting out sugar from my diet I dropped a lot of weight. Now that was something I could get excited about.
That was the defining moment in my life when I knew I wanted to be a chiropractor.
My doctor saved me from the potential of a lifetime of obesity, diabetes and who knows what else.
My life was forever changed by Ideal Protein five years ago when I reached my goal weight. I spent years struggling with low self esteem and trying multiple programs to lose weight. Following the Ideal Protein protocol helped me not only gain control over my health, but also gain confidence in myself. My transformation has propelled me into coaching. I have been coaching since November of 2015 and I love being a part of the process! I’m a single mom of three boys, When I’m not spending time with them, I like to read, listen to live music, watch football (Cowboys, Chiefs, and Kansas State), and go dancing. I am currently working towards a Bachelors degree in Psychology at Concordia University. My favorite time of the day is when I sit on my back patio with my pup and enjoy a cup of coffee.
After years of trying so many diets out there, I finally was able to get my life under control when I started Ideal Protein. I am more confident in my own skin and have learned to love myself, and even my body. Before Ideal Protein, this was a huge struggle for me. It has been a learning experience like no other! My goal is to be able to help others who may feel similarly to how I felt, and help them grow and transform into what makes them feel confident, happy, and content in life. I thrive through coaching others and I am motivated by my clients every day. My husband and I have a four year old daughter. We love quality family time, movie nights, going to the park, and are a huge college football family. My husband is a UT grad, and I am finishing my Bachelors and heading into a masters program at Texas Tech Health Science Center.
